Arrest Made in Connection to Death of Central Islip Woman

The woman was found unconscious in her home after a party in July.

A Coram man was arrested on Tuesday in connection to the death of a Central Islip woman who was found unconscious in her home after holding a house party in July, according to Suffolk Police.

Following an investigation by Homicide Squad detectives, 29-year-old Bryan Bethea was charged with first degree manslaughter for the death of 27-year-old Shantel Scott, police said.

Bethea was arraigned in Suffolk County Supreme Court in Riverhead on Monday.

On July 3, Scott was discovered by other residents inside the 28 Naples Avenue home and was transported by private vehicle to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead.
