Four Rescued After Boat Takes On Water Off Captree Island
The Coast Guard rescued all four people after their boat began to take on water on Sunday afternoon.

ISLIP, NY - Four people were rescued after their boat began to take on water near Captree Island on Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
At 2:15 p.m., watchstanders at Sector Long Island Sound received a call stating a vessel with four people aboard was taking on water.
A rescue boat was launched and at 2:20 p.m., crewmembers aboard a the 29-foot boat arrived on scene to find the group in life jackets aboard the 19-foot pleasure craft.

According to the rescue crew, there was about six to eight inches of water in the boat and the on board bilge pumps were not working. The source of the flooding could not be located.
The four people were transferred to the Coast Guard boat and brought to Captree Boat Basin.

Suffolk County Marine was able to tow the vessel to the boat basin.
No injuries were reported.
