Gas Station Employee Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minors: SCPD

OAKDALE, NY - A gas station employee was arrested for selling alcohol to minors during a State Liquor Authority (SLA) inspection in Oakdale on Tuesday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Due to numerous community complaints, officers conducted an investigation into the sale of alcoholic beverages and e-cigarettes to minors at multiple locations in the Fifth Precinct, police said.

Arif Yildirim, an employee of Valero Gas Station on 1628 Montauk Highway was arrested during the inspection, police said.

Yildirim, 44, of Deer Park was charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a minor after he sold alcohol to a minor, police said.

The following establishments complied and refused to sell cigarettes and e-cigarettes to an underage police agent:

• Citgo Gas Station on 1249 Montauk Highway in Oakdale
• Valero Gas Station on 255 Main Street in West Sayville
• Island Hookah on 291 Montauk Avenue in Sayville
• Gulf Gas Station on 292 Railroad Avenue in Sayville
• Bellport Smoke Shop on 1640 Montauk Highway in Bellport
• Tavares Deli and Grocery on 198 West Main Street in Patchogue
• USA Gas Station on 1365 Montauk Highway in East Patchogue
• M&M Food Mart on 1387 Montauk Highway in East Patchogue
• Valero Gas Station on 1164 Montauk Highway in East Patchogue
• Apple Green Gas Station on 770 Montauk Highway in East Patchogue

Yildirim will be held at the Fifth Precinct is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
