Islip Youth Bureau Donates Over 100 Backpacks To Local Students
All of the children who attended left with backpacks filled with school supplies, books and other goodies.

From The Town Of Islip:Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter met with Islip Youth Bureau Executive Director Tim Mare, in recognition of the recent success of the 2018 Back to School Supply Drive. Backpacks, notebooks, crayons and many other school supplies were generously donated by residents and businesses from across the Islip community, to aid local students returning to school.
In total, supply lists for 32 students were filled, with over 100 backpacks and supply boxes donated. Many of those supplies went to the children and families in attendance at Islip’s English Language Learner (ELL) Orientation held September 26th at Islip High School. All of the children who attended left with backpacks filled with school supplies, books and other goodies donated by the Town of Islip Youth Bureau, Book Fairies, Panera Bread and Kid-too-kid.
“The Town of Islip Youth Bureau continues to go above and beyond coordinating with local businesses to help our community’s children start the school year off on the right foot. Thanks to this partnership and the ongoing support from local businesses like Bubba’s Burrito Bar, we’re able to make a community effort to directly impact the lives of hundreds of students,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
