Man Drove Drunk With His Four Children In Car: Police

ISLIP, NY - A Bay Shore father of four was arrested after he was caught driving drunk with all of his children in the car in Islip on Sunday night, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office.

Eris Diaz, 41, was driving a 1999 Mercury at Suffolk Avenue and Route 111 in Islip at 10:20 pm when he was stopped by a deputy sheriff, according to the press release.

Diaz was found to be in an "intoxication condition" and was arrested at the scene, police said.

He was charged with four counts of aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The children were released to their mother.

Diaz was arraigned on Monday and held on $15,000 bond or $7,500 cash bail.

He is due back in court Friday.
