CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A man was robbed at gunpoint after meeting up in Central Islip with a person who agreed to buy his sneakers online on Saturday night, according to Suffolk Police. The man made an arrangement via Facebook to sell multiple pairs of sneakers. The two met on Wheeler Road at about 8:25 p.m. When the two people met to make the deal, the buyer displayed a gun and stole the sneakers. No description was available.

Beginning Friday, May 22nd, the Farmers Market will take place every Friday from 3:00–7:00 PM, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to shop local, support small businesses, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere that makes Bay Shore so special.
Presented by South Shore Farmers Market, this weekly gathering will feature a curated mix of local farmers, food artisans, and vendors, all set against the iconic backdrop of the Bay Shore Bandshell.
