Masked Machete Robber Arrested: Police
Police say the man robbed 3 businesses, but he fled empty-handed from a gas station after a clerk grabbed a baseball bat. See video inside.

An Islip Terrace man was arrested on Saturday for three robberies and an attempted robbery with a machete in Islip Terrace and Oakdale since July, according to Suffolk Police.
Ronald Fuzia, 37, entered Valero gas station on 1628 Montauk Highway in Oakdale on July 31, at 2:15 a.m., wearing a mask and carrying a machete, and he demanded cash from the clerk, police said.
The clerk complied and Fuzia fled, police said.

Then on August 23, Fuzia entered a Shell gas station on 3259 West Bound Sunrise Service Road in Islip Terrace at 4:15 a.m., wearing a mask and carrying a machete, and he demanded cash from the clerk, police said.
The clerk complied and Fuzia fled, police said.

On Saturday, Fuzia entered Valero on 1628 Montauk Highway in Oakdale at 2:50 a.m., wearing a mask and carrying a machete, and he demanded cash from the clerk, police said.
Fuzia fled without any proceeds, police said. Video from the scene shows an employee chasing the robber out of the store with a baseball bat.

About 10 minutes later he entered 7-Eleven on 128 Carlton Ave. in Islip Terrace wearing a mask and carrying a machete, and he demanded cash from the clerk, police said.
The clerk complied and Fuzia fled, police said.
Following an investigation by Third and Fifth Squad detectives, Fuzia, was arrested and charged with three counts of first degree robbery and one count of first degree attempted robbery.
