Two men are dead after a car crashed into an oil tanker truck in Islip early Saturday morning, Suffolk County Police said.

ISLIP, NY β Two men are dead after a car crashed into an oil tanker truck in Islip early Saturday morning, Suffolk County Police said.
Erick Olivares, 27, of Central Islip was driving a 2020 Honda Accord southbound on Route 111 at 3:35 a.m., police said, when he veered into the northbound lane and struck a northbound oil tanker truck at the intersection of Ironwood Street.
Olivares and his passenger, Kevin Santamaria, 27, were pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

The driver of the oil tanker truck was not injured, police said. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
