WATCH: Fallen Wire Causes Fire In Islip Street

ISLIP, NY - A fallen power line caused a fire to break out in the street in Islip on Thursday afternoon.

The Islip Fire Department responded to a cal of a live primary power line down on South Bay Avenue at about 1:15 p.m.

South Bay Avenue will be closed long term while awaiting for PSEG officials to arrive at the scene.

Only 6 customers in Islip reported power outages according to the PSEG outage map. Power is expected to be restored by 5 p.m.
