Police ID 23-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash Into Long Island Building

It happened Friday morning, police say.

EAST ISLIP, NY – A 23-year-old woman died after her car crashed into a building in East Islip Friday morning, police said.

According to police, Kerri Becvar was driving a 2002 Honda south on Carleton Avenue when her vehicle left the roadway and struck the AmVets building, located at 141 Carleton Ave., just north of the Irish Coffee Pub at 8:42 a.m.

Becvar, of East Islip, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she was pronounced dead. No one was inside the building at the time of the incident, police said.

Officials from the Town of Islip responded to evaluate the building.

Police are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
