QUEENS, NY — A tanker truck overturned and spilled thousands of gallons of fuel onto a Queens road near Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge on Wednesday.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Meyer Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard.
Emergency personnel sprayed foam on the ground and around the crash site to contain the fuel spill. They were eventually able to get the leak under control.
Three individuals including the driver refused medical attention at the scene.
