QUEENS, NEW YORK -- Police had to rescue a family who drove their pickup truck onto a Queens beach then got caught during high tide on Sunday.

The family was fishing on Breezy Point Beach near Oceanside Avenue at about 5:25 p.m. when the water rushed in and flooded the truck, police said.

The passengers, a 28-year-old woman and three men aged 58, 44 and 27, found themselves trapped inside the truck when its tires sunk into the sand, according to police.
