Toddler Found Unconscious In South Jamaica Dies, Police Say

Cops found the 22-month-old boy unresponsive on Monday evening, the NYPD said.

JAMAICA, NY — A toddler was pronounced dead after cops found him unconscious in South Jamaica on Monday evening, police said. Officers responding to a 911 call found the 22-month-old boy unresponsive around 7 p.m. in a building on Sutphin Boulevard near Rockaway Boulevard, the NYPD said.

The child had no obvious signs of trauma at the building, according to police. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital and pronounced dead there, the NYPD said.

The city medical examiner will determine the cause of death, police said. The death is still under investigation, according to police.
