10 Things to Know about Northport's Great Cow Harbor 10K Run
Some tips to help you navigate Saturday's big event.

Here are 10 things to know about Northport’s Great Cow Harbor 10K Run, which takes place Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
- Saturday’s forecast calls for mostly sun, with temperatures expected to reach 71 degrees.
- Parking is available at Northport High School on Elwood Rd., north of Pulaski Rd.
- Shuttle bus service will be available continuously from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. to the registration and startline.The last bus leaves at 7:45 a.m. Bus service will be provided after the race from the finish line back to Northport High School.
- Cars parked along the racecourse are subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
- The event also features a 2K fun run that attracts that families and participants of all ages, and is anticipated to draw more than 1,000.
- The 10K is limited to first 5,500 entrants.
- As many as 25,000 spectators are expected.
- Charities to benefit from this year’s run include Special Olympics, the Veterans Administration and a local food pantry.
- This year’s event features express chip timing, a disposable device that automatically records records finish times, which are displayed at Northport Village Park.
