5 Vape Shop Clerks Sold Products To Minors In Suffolk: Police

The clerks were arrested during an investigation into the sale of vaping products to customers under 21, police say.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY - Five people were arrested for selling vaping products to underage customers at vape shops in Suffolk County between Dec. 2 and Dec. 18, according to Suffolk Police.

After receiving complaints from local residents, officers conducted an investigation into the sale of vaping products to customers under the age of 21 at nine local businesses.

According to police, as a result of the investigation, the following five clerks were charged with selling e-cigarettes to minors:

  • Raymond Swartz, 28, of Yaphank, a clerk at Xhale Custom Vapes on 335 Smithtown Boulevard in Ronkonkoma.
  • Kyle Petrow, 23, of Selden a clerk at All Day Vapes on 2545 Route 25 in Centereach.
  • Joyce Lamendola, 50, of Smithtown a clerk at Saint James Vape Shop on 448 Lake Avenue in Saint James.
  • Rashid Kamloan, 58, of Plainview, a clerk at Mr. Vape on 114 Main Street in Kings Park.

    The clerks were issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip at later dates.

    The following establishments were in compliance:

    • Long Island Vaporium, located at 401 Hawkins Road, Ronkonkoma
    • Cloud Vapor and Smoke, located at 55 Route 111, Smithtown
    • Suffolk Vape, located at 165A Terry Road, Smithtown
    • BP Gas Station, located at 94 Pulaski Road, Kings Park
