Crime Report: Police Seek Credit Card Thief

Police say an unidentified woman stole a wallet at Costco and used a stolen credit card to make purchases at Target.

An unknown woman stole a wallet from a shopping cart in a Commack store and used a credit card taken from that wallet to make purchases, according to Suffolk County police, who are seeking the public's assistance in identifying her.

The woman took the wallet from a victim's shopping cart at on 10 Garet Place on Sept. 7, 2010 and used a credit card from inside the wallet to make purchases at the store nearby that same day, police said.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers
anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Lee Colbert, 38, of Farmingville, was arrested Feb. 1 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Colbert was observed at 1:30 a.m. driving a 1999 Volkswagen on Route 25A in Kings Park with a suspended license.
