2012 Dennis Cannataro Family Summer Concert Series

The Friends of the Smithtown Library proudly announce the Eighth Annual Outdoor Family Summer Concert Series made possible by a grant from Suffolk County and secured by Legislator Lynne C. Nowick. Last season over 38,900 people were entertained at the free concerts!

What better way to spend a warm summer evening than listening to great entertainment with your family and friends at an outdoor concert?

The Thursday evening shows begin promptly at 8:00pm, but it is recommended that you plan on arriving early. The shows return to the front lawn of the Smithtown Library on East Main Street at the intersection of NYS Routes 25, 25A and 111 in downtown Smithtown. Bring your favorite chair or blanket with you.

July 5: Beatles Show: Strawberry Fields     8:00pm

A Beatles Tribute band performing a complete Beatles show in full costume and make-up. The intent of the group is to respectfully recreate the music, look, feel and magic of the Fab Four, a group that changed the course of music history.

July 12: Rod Stewart Show: Rick Larrimore      8:00pm

The "ULTIMATE" Tribute to Rod Stewart. Rick Larrimore brings us Rod Stewart. You will not be able to tell if you are watching Rod or Rick.

July 19: The Sixties Show    8:00pm

The Sixties Show™ has been described as “The Greatest 1960’s Musical Tribute Show on Earth”™. The band includes former members of Billy Joel’s and Elton John’s band, The Boston Pops® and current members of The Smithereens.

July 26: Eagles Tribute Band: Desert Highway    8:00pm

Desert Highway has quickly made a name for itself as the premiere Eagles tribute band around. Despite the fact that the band has only been together for less than 3 years, they have gained a reputation as the truest sounding Eagles tribute band in the country.

August 2: Risky Business:Oldies      8:00pm

One of the top nostalgia bands on Long Island takes you back to the music of the 60's through today. Hear all the top music from each era.

August 9: Dr. K's Motown Revue     8:00pm

The band takes a break from the Mohegan Sun to warm the hearts of our Library fans. This band takes you on a very realistic journey to the Motown sound and makes you want to sing along with every familiar song!

August 16: Billy Joel Tribute Band: Big Shot     8:00pm

The premier Billy Joel Tribute act including all of Joel's greatest hits. The band creates a sound and stage presence as excitingly close to an actual Billy Joel performance as you will ever experience.
