Firefighters Battle Blaze at Abandoned Kings Park Psych Center Building: Report

A fire broke out at an abandoned building at the Kings Park Psychiatric Center early Wednesday morning, according to a report in Newsday.

Firefighters responded to the Safety Department building at the center on W. 4th Street at about 2 a.m.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown but fire officials told Newsday they believe it could have been caused by "vandals or vagrants" using the building as shelter.

No injuries were reported.
