Four Hurt in Smithtown House Fire
One person suffered critical burns; a firefighter suffered minor injuries.
Four people were injured, including a Smithown firefighter, in a blaze that destroyed a Smithtown home early Sunday morning.
The fire broke out around 2:10 a.m. at 44 Marquette Drive.
Three people inside the home were assisted out of the house before firefighters arrived, according to Smithtown Fire Department PIO Jeff Bressler. The occupants were taken by Smithtown Fire Department and Kings Park Fire Department ambulances to Stony Brook University Hospital. One of the occupants suffered critical burns, sources told Patch.

One Smithtown firefighter was also taken to Stony Brook with a minor injury. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The St. James, Nesconset, Hauppauge, Kings Park and Nissequogue fire departments helped battle the blaze.
