GALLERY: Super Send Off for Volleyball Champs

Sporting t-shirts that read "Back to Back Long Island Champs", the Kings Park girls volleyball team boarded a bus bound for the state championships in Glenn Falls, New York on Friday morning.

The Long Island Class A champs held onto their title when they beat South Side 3-0 Tuesday night.

The girls will begin play on Saturday. Head coach Elizabeth Manly said she believes that this time the girls will come out as the state champs.

“I fully anticipate being in that state championship on Sunday,” Manly said. “I think that we have a very, very talented team and I’m so excited. They are hungry for that state championship. Last year they finished third, so hoping for the best.”
