Man Struck, Killed by Car in Hauppauge

A 36-year-old Riverhead man was struck and killed by a car on Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge Sunday night, police said.

According to police, Christopher Noselli was walking in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Old Townline Road when he was struck by an eastbound 2006 Nissan Murano at about 9:20 p.m.

Noselli was transported via Commack Rescue to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Nissan, a 25-year-old Smithtown woman, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
