This brand new establishment is causing quite a buzz. What used to be Hokey Pokey's is now Mrs. Brown's Kitchen. Mrs. Brown is Christy Brown , the wife of restaurant partner Don Brown. The interior transformation is notable for two reasons; not only is the light and bright interior a stark contrast to what was there before; the entire renovation was done in just over one month's time. Chef Matt Hudson, no stranger to the breakfast and lunch crowd, hails from Smithtown favorite Maureen's Kitchen.
Mrs. Brown's is open for breakfast and lunch and there are plenty of offerings. Breakfast choices are bountiful with several different types of omelets to choose from as well as pancakes, waffles and a house favorite, stuffed french toast.
Lunch choices were just a plentiful with items such as salads, sandwiches and homemade soups and chili. All of the sandwiches looked to be a tasty treat but this one which is served on a pretzel roll really stood out.

How's It Taste?: The pretzel roll was a nice change from the ordinary Kaiser type roll you usually get with a sandwich. It tasted fresh and doughy and had a rich golden color to it. The cutlet was topped a melted and flavorful cheddar along with a few crispy bacon strips. The homemade sweet and tangy BBQ sauce was the standout flavor of the dish. Thin, straw fried onion rings, called tobacco onion rings, covered the entire sandwich. All the flavors melded together to make a truly tasty and very filling sandwich.
Sides: As if all of this sandwich goodness wasn't enough, the dish comes with your choice of either french fries, sweet potato tots, tobacco onion rings, potato salad, coleslaw or a fruit cup. Who are we kidding with the fruit cup. I chose to have my dish piled high with sweet potato tots.
Most offerings here for both breakfast and lunch will run you between $9.00-$10.00 and they offer a children's menu as well.
Bottom Line: One napkin just won't cut it. Ask for a wet-nap.
