New York Ranks Among Best States For Women

NEW YORK - New York was ranked as the 13th best state for women, according to Wallethub.

The website ranked all 50 states based on 23 different factors including median earnings for female workers, women’s preventive health care and female homicide rate.

"In 2018, women in some parts of America still get the short end of the stick — even as they outnumber men in most states," the website wrote.

According to Wallethub, women make up 51 percent of the population but represent almost two-thirds of all minimum-wage workers in the U.S. and 22 percent of the Senate and 19.3 percent of the House of Representatives.

Minnesota came in as the best state for women while Louisiana came in last.
