Police: Man Stole Money Left Outside St. James Home for Sanitation Workers

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man who stole money from outside a St. James residence last month.

Police say a man walked up to the door of a residence on Ashleigh Drive sometime between Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 and stole money meant for sanitation workers that was taped to the front door.

The man fled in a light-colored sedan with tinted windows, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
