Police: Pregnant Kings Park Woman on Drugs Crashes Car

The crash occurred Wednesday night in Kings Park. Woman airlifted to the hospital.

A 26-year-old pregnant Kings Park woman was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by drugs following a single car crash in Kings Park on Wednesday night, police said.

According to police, Danielle Wisnieski was driving a 2003 Cadillac Escalade north on Indian Head Road when she lost control of the vehicle and it overturned near Old Northport Road at 8:01 p.m.

Wisnieski, who is 26 weeks pregnant, was treated at the scene by Suffolk County Police Medical Crisis Action Team (MedCAT) paramedics who administered Narcan–an opioid antidote–prior to her being transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Suffolk County Police helicopter.

Wisnieski is being treated for minor injuries. She told police she had been using heroin, Newsday reported.

Her passenger, Randal Jernigan, 34, of Kings Park, was transported via Kings Park Rescue to Huntington Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Wisnieski will be arraigned at a later date at First District Court in Central Islip.
