Felony DWI Charges For Teen After Parkway Crash
The 19-year-old crashed into an exit sign, a light pole and then a tree Tuesday. He had two 15-year-old passengers in his car, police say.
KINGS PARK, NY — A 19-year-old Commack man was arrested after driving drunk with two 15-year-old passengers in his car and crashing on the Sunken Meadow Parkway in Kings Park Tuesday evening, state police said.
Troopers responded to a single-car crash on the parkway near Exit SM5–Route 25A at about 5:30 p.m.
According to police, Jonathon M. Capelluto was driving a 2011 Infiniti southbound when he lost control of the car, struck an exit sign, a light pole and then a tree.

Capelluto was treated and released at Huntington Hospital for minor injuries, police said.
He was found to be intoxicated and arrested on felony DWI charges under Leandra’s Law because there were two 15-year-old passengers in his car, police said.

Capelluto was also found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.
He is charged with two counts of aggravated DWI, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful possession of marijuana and traffic violations, police said.
Capelluto will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip. The two passengers in his car were turned over to their parents, police said.
