Teen Hit By Car In Supermarket Parking Lot Critically Injured

It happened Monday night, Suffolk Police say. No charges have been filed against the 18-year-old driver.

KINGS PARK, NY - A Kings Park teen was critically injured after being struck by a car in Kings Park on Monday night, according to Suffolk Police.

The 18-year-old man was in the parking lot of Key Food located 66 Indian Head Road when he was struck by a 2001 Lexus sedan driven by an 18-year-old Kings Park woman at 10 p.m., police said.

The man was transported by Kings Park Rescue ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is in critical condition.

The driver was not injured and remained at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
