Varsity Scoreboard: Softball Running Away With League V
Taylor strikes out 19, narrowly defeating Islip.
Softball: Lindsay Taylor was at it again this week, allowing just one run in three victories. She struck out 19 in a narrow 2-1 defeat of Islip on Monday and 17 more in a 9-0 trouncing of Harborfields on Thursday. They now hold the top spot in League V by two games over Hauppauge, who they will see on Tuesday. The girls can clinch first place with a win over Huntington on Monday.
Baseball: The Kingsmen's sweep of Harborfields this week has kept their playoff hopes alive entering the final week of the regular season. Unfortunately for them, they will see top-seeded Hauppauge in their final regular season series. They'll need to take two out of three from the Eagles to qualify.
Boys Lacrosse: The boys lacrosse team split a pair of games this weekend, after beating up on Bellport 13-7 on Monday, they fell victim to Sayville's attackmen in an 11-3 beating on Wednesday. Dominic Montemurro had four goals and two assists in Monday's victory, adding to his team-leading 29 goals this season. His 15 assists are good for second on Kings Park, behind Andrew Gannon's 23. They may be forced to be on the outside looking in when the playoffs roll around after next week, as they sit at 5-7 in League II.

Girls Lacrosse: Losses to Sayville and East Hampton this week may have sealed the Lady Kingsmen's playoff fate in 2011. Despite Natalie Silvers' best efforts, 11 goals and 3 assists in the two contests, they fell 21-15 to Sayville on Tuesday and 15-10 to East Hampton on Thursday. Their 4-9 League II record will most likely disqualify them from the postseason.
