• Lackawanna couple sentenced for animal cruelty, starving dogs (newyorkupstate.com) — A Lackawanna couple has been sentenced after authorities found one dog dead and another severely emaciated inside their South Park Avenue home. Stephen Andres received six months in jail plus probation, while Tara Andres received probation and both are banned for life from owning animals. The surviving dog, Diamond, is recovering well after being adopted by a former SPCA veterinarian.
