2 New Rochelle Men Killed In Mamaroneck Collision

Police said speed appears to have been a factor.

MAMARONECK, NY — The two victims in the collision Saturday morning of a car and a garbage truck in Mamaroneck were identified as New Rochelle residents. Rolando Oliveros, 20, was the driver who was killed, and Omar Ayala, 17, was the passenger.

The garbage truck was struck by the Acura Oliveros was driving as it was turning into Mamaroneck High School, the Journal News said.

Speed appears to have been a factor, police said.

The collision happened before 8 a.m. Saturday on West Boston Post Road.
