2016-17 School Calendar for Mamaroneck
The new school year starts soon. Here are dates you and your children need to know.
MAMARONECK, NY — There are a few more beach day, but the reality is, the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2016-17 school year in the Mamaroneck Union Free School District.
- Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5
- First day of school: Sept. 6
- Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3-4
- Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 10
- Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct. 12
- Election Day, Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed for students): Nov. 8
- Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 11
- Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 24-25 (early dismissal Nov. 23)
- Holiday recess: Dec. 22-30 (school resumes Jan. 3)
- Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16
- Presidents Day/winter recess (school closed): Feb. 20-24
- Spring recess: April 10-14
- Snow/Spring Giveback Day #1: April 17 TBD
- Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 29
- Snow/Spring Giveback Day #2: May 30 TBD
- Last day of school: June 23
