2017 Christmas Movies TV Schedule: When Are Holiday Classics On?

The countdown to Thanksgiving in the Hudson Valley is on and the "Christmas Creep" has begun. Networks are scheduling their movies for the holidays, and one of the biggest juggernauts, Hallmark, has switched its two channels to a wall-to-wall Christmas format. If your family Christmas traditions include watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the National Christmas Tree lighting and other events leading up to the big day, we have the dates and times for you to catch your favorites in the coming weeks.

Patch has pulled together these highlights for holiday shows into the new year, and we'll keep updating as more are announced. It runs the gamut from Bing Crosby and Jimmy Stewart on Turner Movie Classics to countless showings of Will Ferrell as everyone’s favorite elf and Chevy Chase as he doggedly tries to give his family a merry Christmas and the best light display ever. And two besties will host a national New Year's Eve party for the first time this year.

Back to delight "Gilmore Girls" fans, UP TV will air a GilMORE the Merrier binge-a-thon hosted by Yanic Truesdale as his snarky character, Michel Gerard. The marathon features all seven seasons of the series around the clock for 153 hours straight, beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, and concluding at 7 p.m. ET Sunday, Nov. 26.

The annual lineup of holiday classics run from "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "A Charlie Brown Christmas," and "Frosty's Winter Wonderland" to Elf,” “Christmas Vacation,” and the heartwarming oldie “It’s A Wonderful Life.”

Listings are subject to change; so check each network’s website for updates. Programs run the gamut from Bing Crosby and Jimmy Stewart on Turner Movie Classics to countless showings of Will Ferrell as everyone’s favorite elf. And if you want to chug some Christmas cheer at the expense of Hallmark's formula of women dropping their clearly inappropriate boyfriends as they find true love at the holiday, there's a drinking game for that; watch for cool scarves, orphans and adorable dogs.

Freeform network launches its annual "25 Days of Christmas" event on Nov. 18, and the full schedule was just posted. The major broadcast networks have not yet released their programming guides for the holidays.
