Remember The Adventures of Tom Sawyer? Now there's a new book, The Adventures of Sid Sawyer, about Tom's nerdy half-brother Sid. Portrayed as a goody-goody tattletale in Mark Twain's book, in Catherine Hiller's new e-book (her fifth published novel), he is a boy-genius -- and Tom is a casual bully. It's fun to see the classic scenes in the original -- painting the fence, lost in the cave, crashing their own funeral -- from Sid's wry point of view. Sid is also on a quest to find his father who disappeared long ago. The book is appropriate for children over twelve, who will enjoy adventures old and new (a tornedo, a kidnapping, an an encounter with the Sac Indians) -- but might be best enjoyed by nostalgic adults who would like to revisit St. Petersburg again. Available for e-readers from ArmadilloCentral.com and from Amazon.
