Andrea Schenkel, Crime Novelist
Award winning crime novelist to speak in Larchmont

At Home on the Sound is pleased to present Andrea Maria Schenkel. Ms. Schenkel is a literary crime novelist from Germany. Her 2006 book, “Tannöd”, took the literary world by storm, selling over one million copies. The award-winning book has been published in more than 20 languages and in the United States under the title “The Murder Farm”. In 2009, the work was released as a film.
Her second book, “Kalteis”, also a best-selling novel, will be published in the United States this year under the title “Ice Cold”.
Both books won Germany’s Deutsche Krimi Preis, which is annually awarded to the country’s best crime novel. Schenkel is the first author to win the prize in back-to-back years. In 2008, “Tannöd” also won Sweden’s Martin Beck Award, which is given to the best crime novel translated into Swedish.

Since the publication of these best-selling works, Schenkel has authored “Bunker”, “Finsterau”, and “Täuscher”, and edited a volume of Christmas-themed crime stories, “White Snow, Red Blood”.
Schenkel lives in Regensburg, Germany and in the New York metropolitan area.
