Beloved Larchmont Tradition 'Zooming' Back For The Holidays

It isn't really Christmas before librarian Frank Connelly pulls out all the stops in a dramatic reading of "A Christmas Carol" by Dickens.

LARCHMONT, NY — We shouldn't need to be visited by three ghosts to find our holiday spirit, but an enduring Larchmont tradition makes seeing Christmas through the eyes of Ebenezer Scrooge too much fun to miss.

About this time each year, Larchmont Public Library librarian Frank Connelly brings the Charles Dickens classic holiday tale of avarice and redemption to life with staid dramatic flair. This season, the anticipated annual event will take place virtually because even the "a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner" wouldn't want to expose "Tiny Tim" to the pestilence of the age.

This is the perfect time to reminisce about performances past or start a tradition for Christmases future. Your Zoom invite to the Dec. 16 performance at 7 p.m. and a bit of Christmas cheer to last the whole year is available here presently.
