Bridge Work To Close Lanes On Boston Post Road This Week
The NYSDOT is warning Westchester drivers one lane of US Route 1, both north and south, will be closed. Flaggers will direct traffic.

MAMARONECK, NY — This is a short work week for most, but traffic tie-ups due to ongoing bridgework could add some aggravation to those rush hour commutes.
The New York State Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory for Westchester County motorists. One lane of US Route 1 (Boston Post Road) northbound and southbound will be closed with flaggers on hand for traffic control between Library Lane and Spruce Street in the Village of Mamaroneck.
The bridgework will take place daily on Monday and Tuesday, between 9 a.m. and midnight, if weather allows.

The DOT said lane closures are necessary to reinforce and strengthen the stone arch bridge over the Mamaroneck River. The bridge replacement project is part of a capital improvement initiative in Westchester County. The initiative known as the "Lower Westchester Bridge Bundle" also includes the replacement of the East Lincoln Avenue bridge in Mount Vernon and the Saw Mill River Parkway bridges.
The agency is asking drivers to slow down and drive responsibly in the work zone. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license, NYSDOT officials remind drivers.
