Broadway On The Sound And Mariachi Fusion At Harbor Island

Mamaroneck's free "Rise and Shine" Concerts include performers from the Great White Way and Grammy-winning musicians by the sea.

MAMARONECK, NY — The star power that is coming to Harbor Island Park this summer will likely never be found collected in such an intimate and picturesque venue ever again — certainly not for the low, low price of free.

There is no need to choose between the two performances in the series. Why not just go to both?

Flor de Toloache

Aug 18, at 7 p.m.
Rain Date Aug 19, at 7 p.m.

Latin Grammy-winning Flor de Toloache is led by singers Mireya I. Ramos and Shae Fiol. Evoking the early days of mariachi, the group started as a trio with harp, violin and vihuela. Today, Flor De Toloache’s members hail from all around the world, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Australia, Colombia, Germany, Italy and the United States.

The band credits this “cultural bouquet” for its uniquely edgy and fresh take on traditional Mexican music. “They coalesce as would a band of sisters, with a grace and vibrant beauty that casts a spell over their audiences, not unlike the legendary Toloache flower still being used in Mexico as a love potion" from which the band derived its name.

The band’s live performances have earned accolades from Rolling Stone, Billboard Magazine, The New Yorker, GQ Magazine and The New York Times.
