Larchmont Public Library Celebrates 100 Years of Community and Learning

This year, Larchmont Public Library proudly celebrates its 100th Anniversary, marking a century of inspiring readers, fostering lifelong learning, and serving as a cornerstone of the Larchmont community. To commemorate this remarkable milestone, the library will host a Centennial Open House on October 25th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Join friends and neighbors for an afternoon of live jazz music, anniversary cake, and refreshments as we celebrate this beloved community treasure and the generations of patrons who have helped shape its story. Beginning in October, visitors can also enjoy a special anniversary photo exhibit, featuring images spanning the library's 100-year history. The exhibit, located in LPL’s Oresman gallery, offers a nostalgic look at how the library has evolved over the decades and highlights its enduring role at the heart of the Larchmont community. Throughout the year, the library has honored its centennial with a variety of special programs, including book discussions and films reflecting on the past century. The October Open House serves as the culmination of this year-long celebration. The Centennial Open House is open to the public and is a free, family-friendly event.
