Carly Rose Headlines Starlight Foundation Event

Carly Rose Sonenclar—the Mamaroneck resident who wowed judges on X Factor with her powerful voice—sang for her favorite audience: kids involved with the Starlight Foundation of NY, NJ and CT, an organization dedicated to, "brightening the lives of seriously ill children and helping them to cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities."

Carly has been involved with the foundation for many years and cites her friendship with the kids as something that distinguishes Starlight from other nonprofit organizations.

“I don’t know if it would be the same with other foundations where I’d get to have a personal relationship with the kids. With this foundation, I get to talk to them and hang out with them, and that’s really the most important part," she said at last night's event in New York City.

The event—which drew over 1,000 guests—raised $1.6 million for Starlight Foundation.
