Mamaroneck High School Wednesday welcomes several Chinese exchange students from Shanghai Experimental, Mamaroneck’s sister school, officials announced.
The Welcome Ceremony will be held at the school at 3 p.m., during which the school’s 15-member drum band, “The Force,” will play, and cheerleaders and community members will celebrate their arrival. Both Mamaroneck students and the Chinese students will speak, perform songs and exchange gifts.

From the Mamaroneck School District: The program is “one the longest running and richest high school Mandarin programs in the country. Beginning in 7th grade, students take Chinese and then have the opportunity to either travel to China when they reach the high school level or help host events for Chinese students who visit here as part of our arrangement with our sister school in Shanghai.
