Community Flood Mitigation Forums Set As Major Projects Go Forward
There will be both a community forum and a meeting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to learn about flood risk management in Mamaroneck.

MAMARONECK, NY — As a multimillion dollar flood mitigation public works project moves forward, federal and local officials will hold a series of meetings and public question and answer forums to help the community better understand what to expect from the long-awaited efforts to protect flood-prone areas of the village.
An in-person community open forum on flood mitigation is scheduled for Thursday, May 12. It will be a chance for residents to share their ideas, suggestions and concerns. The forum will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Parish House Lower Level of St. Vito and Most Holy Trinity Church, located at 816 Underhill Ave. in Mamaroneck.
This meeting will be hosted by the Village of Mamaroneck, with support from the Flood Mitigation Advisory Committee as well as the Community Resource Center.

On Wednesday, May 18, a community meeting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will take place at the Emelin Theater at 153 Library Lane in Mamaroneck, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required and can be obtained here.
The Army Corps of Engineers will review the Mamaroneck and Sheldrake Rivers Flood Risk Management Project. Questions that are submitted in advance will be addressed. Questions, concerns, ideas and suggestions can either be submitted at the May 12 Community Open Forum or online by Friday, May 13.

Emelin Theater COVID-19 Policy: Prior to admission, all attendees must present proof of vaccination completed at least 2 weeks before the event and a photo ID. All audience members, regardless of age, must wear masks covering the nose and mouth.
