A 'Community Service Fair' To Connect Volunteers And Non-Profits

MAMARONECK, NY — After the challenges of a global pandemic and the devastation of serious back-to-back natural disasters, the local community can use neighbors looking out for each other, perhaps now more than ever before.

The first ever Lions Community Service Fair will take place on Sept. 25 from noon until 3 p.m. Organizers say the event will give civic-minded community members a chance to browse local opportunities and find the place that interests them the most.

There will be in-person opportunities to learn about the different groups in Larchmont and Mamaroneck working to make the community better. Representatives from area service organizations and nonprofits will share how prospective volunteers can get involved and help make a difference.

Participating organizations will include, among others:

• Girl Scouts of Larchmont Mamaroneck

• At Home on the Sound

The events will take place outside, in front of the Hommocks Rink. In case of inclement weather, the fair will be rescheduled on the Sept. 26, rain date the following day. Portions of the event scheduled to happen on Harbor Island Park were relocated to the Hommocks site because of ongoing flood recovery efforts.
