Broadway Hits Derived from Shakespeare at Larchmont Woman's Club

“Three for the Show” will present songs from Broadway musicals based on Shakespeare’s plays at the Woman’s Club of Larchmont on February 18.  Baritone Mark Cummings’s performance will include songs from “The Boys from Syracuse” (“Comedy of Errors”), “West Side Story” (“Romeo and Juliet”) and “Kiss Me Kate” (“The Taming of the Shrew.”)

The program is produced by Lu Gmoser, a Westchester producer/performer, whose running commentary will set the stage for the music. Mr. Cummings has sung with the Associate Chorus of New York City Opera as well as with the Santa Fe, Sarasota, and Memphis opera companies. Patrons of the Westchester Broadway Theatre will remember him as Pharaoh in Elton John’s “Aida.” His musical versatility also includes oratorio, community theatre and cabaret. Ms. Gmoser founded “Three for the Show” in 1985, and has built a repertoire of more than 50 programs. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Westchester Community College.

The public is invited at no charge to the program at 2:00 P.M. at the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Avenue. More information: 914-630-1873 or 834-1689.  www.WomansClubofLarchmont.org
