In the early 1900s it was discovered that a rock outcropping bore a striking resemblance to the face of George Washington. That rock, celebrated in postcards and publications, gradually disappeared beneath green overgrowth.
On Saturday, May 5, at 11:15, you will once again be able to see the face on the Washington Rock, for yourself and hear about it's provenance.
Hosted by Peter Fellows, Mamaroneck Historical Society, sponsored by Liberty Montessori School celebrating 40 years of teaching.
