Family Dog Killed By Coyote In Rye Neck
The mayor said the village trapper was sent to deal with the situation.

RYE NECK, NY — A family pet was killed by a coyote Thursday in Rye Neck. According to Village of Mamaroneck Mayor Thomas Murphy, incident happened after 11 p.m. on Stuart Avenue.
The pet dog's body was found in a fenced-in backyard, the Journal News said.
Murphy said, in an email to the community, that the village sent its trapper to deal with the situation "so other pets do not suffer the same fate."

He said the village will keep on top of the issue "and do all in our power to deal effectively and rationally with this difficult situation."
Murphy also shared a link to a page on the village website about coyotes.
