Former Mamaroneck School Superintendent Fried Dies

A funeral service will be held Wednesday in Croton-on-Hudson.

MAMARONECK, NY — Former Mamaroneck School District Superintendent Dr. Paul Fried has died. The school district announced his passing Monday. Fried served as superintendent from 2005 to 2010.

A funeral service will be held in remembrance of Fried at noon Wednesday, April 25 at Temple Israel Northern Westchester, 31 Glengary Lane in Croton-on-Hudson.

“Many of you knew Dr. Fried for his philosophy of servant leadership and as a thoughtful listener/collaborator and relationship builder,” the district said in a statement.

“During his time in Mamaroneck, Dr. Fried forged strong relationships between parents, board members, central and building administrator teams and the Mamaroneck Teachers Association. He will be greatly missed,” the district said.

Fried left Mamaroneck to take a superintendent position in Montville, NJ. He served there for five years, before taking over the stop spot in the White Plains School District in July 2015.
