Fuller Center Has A 'Steak' In January Fundraiser At Sedona

There might not be a more delicious way to lend a hand to neighbors and support a good cause than the "Dine Out for Charity" Mondays.

MAMARONECK, NY — The group that was focused on helping communities in and around Mamaroneck recover from natural disaster will benefit from an opportunity for neighbors to enjoy a night out after a rough year.

The Fuller Center for Housing of Greater New York City is the beneficiary during the Dine Out for Charity on Mondays in January at the Sedona Tap House.

The popular restaurant's signature 8oz. black angus flat iron steak is half-price on Mondays and $2 from each one sold will support the Fuller Center.

The Fuller Center for Housing of Greater New York City matches the financial opportunities and volunteer interest with the needs of those seeking "simple, decent places to live" in Westchester County and New York City. In recent months, the organization has been working around the clock in an effort to get post-tropical cyclone Ida victims back in their homes as quickly as possible before the holidays and the arrival winter weather. Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of the unique Dine Out for Charity Mondays in November and December, The Alzheimer’s Association and the Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions Foundation, raised $1270 for each group. Sedona dedicates ordinarily one month of Mondays throughout the year in support of local charities and service groups. The two-month pairing launched a series of joint efforts between the Lions and The Alzheimer’s Association.

Sedona’s support also helped raise awareness of Alzheimer’s and dementia during November, which was National Family Caregiver Month and National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month.

The Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions focus on supporting existing non-profit and community service groups, by bringing leaders together to determine needs, solutions and resources. The LM Lions Foundation is their 501c3 service fund to encourage community partnerships and matching donations in support of local needs and Lions' causes.

The LM Lions are part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization of over 1.4 million members. The Lions have six core causes. Its signature causes are vision/blindness, along with hunger, the environment, diabetes, childhood cancer and the future of youth. They are signatories of the United Nations resolutions on women’s and refugee rights. You can learn more about the LM Lions here.

The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Its vision is a world without Alzheimer’s and all dementia. The Hudson Valley Chapter serves families living with dementia in seven counties in New York, including Duchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester. In order for the Fuller Center to benefit from the fundraiser, participants must dine-in on a Monday this month. The purchase of a beverage is required. Only one meal per person is eligible for the donations. The Sedona Tap House is located at 640 E Boston Post Rd. in Mamaroneck.
