Girl Scouts, Mamaroneck Team Up to Promote Recycling
The weekend event will focus recycling e-waste.

MAMARONECK, NY - The Town of Mamaroneck and Girl Scout Troop 1826 are teaming up to promote the town’s E-Waste recycling program.
On Saturday, April 16, residents of the apartment building at 35 North Chatsworth Ave. in Larchmont can donate their e-waste during a recycling drive right in their building.
The scouts will be educating people as to what types of materials can be recycled and will be in charge of collecting them.

Organizers said that e-waste is almost anything with a power cord, such as small appliances, computers, televisions, fax machines, VCRs, cellphones and charges, microwaves and stereos.
Non-rechargeable batteries are not considered e-waste.
Also people getting rid of computers or cellphones should make certain any personal or contact information is deleted.
Mamaroneck Town Supervisor Nancy Seligson said the town was proud to be working with the scout troop.
“The Girl Scouts are committed to creating oportunities to help improve the world around them, and this is one way that we can work together to help increase recycling in our community,” she said.
