Grant, Donations Helps Hommocks MS Upgrade Music Program

Computers and other electronic devices are being used to compose new music.

MAMARONECK, NY — A $55,000 grant from the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation has allowed the Hommocks Middle School to offer an upgrade to its general music program.

Students in Jeremy Franze’s classes are composing music on high-end electronic equipment, including new Mac computers, piano keyboards and 30 lab stations, according to an article at the Journal News.

Ableton, a music tech company, also donated equipment editing software valued at $24,000.
