High School Hoops Heats Up for Playoffs
The Boys programs for both Rye Neck and Mamaroneck earn home court games in Round 1 of the 2022 Section 1 playoffs. Feb 19 2022 is special.
The frigid temperatures of the winter 2022 can't lower the heat being generated by the local boys high school teams with the playoffs starting this weekend.
Both Rye Neck HS and Mamaroneck HS have Boys programs who earned home court advantage for Round 1 of the Section 1 basketball payoffs.
Saturday February 19, 2022 is a special date for local hoops fans: a rare doubleheader as fans can hit Rye Neck, grab some lunch, then travel down the Post Road to catch Mamaroneck in action.

- Rye Neck tips off at 11am as the #5 seed in Class B vs Pleasanvtille.
- Mamaroneck plays at 3pm as the 8th seed in Class AA, taking on rival New Rochelle.

The RN Panthers racked up a record of 17-3, putting in a season that surprised many, especially their opponents. They feature one of the tallest frontcourts in Section 1 and a tenacious defense that limits opponents to barely over 40 points per game.
The Mamaroneck Tigers finished with a record of 10-9 but played the hardest schedule around in a very competitive class and league. The Tigers started out red hot this season, hit a brutal stretch of top opponents just as star junior Aidan Roy got injured, but regrouped in the final game as Roy returned to help them secure home court in Round 1.
